Reports To: Facilities Manager
Job Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Location: Various PDI facilities across the Inland Empire
Job Summary:
An Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe environment in healthcare settings. The role requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections and ensure a hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitization:

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.

Disinfect surfaces and equipment, ensuring high-touch areas are sanitized regularly to prevent the spread of infections.

Handle biohazardous waste according to safety protocols and regulations.

Ensure all waste bins are emptied and cleaned daily.

Stocking and Supplies:

Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and equipment.

Report inventory shortages to the supervisor for timely replenishment.

Floor Care:

Perform dry and wet mopping on a regular basis.

Perform floor care duties such as waxing, stripping, and buffing floors as required.

Clean and sanitize carpets and upholstery using appropriate methods.

Maintenance:

Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.

Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Participate in ongoing training related to healthcare cleaning standards and procedures.
Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional training or certification in janitorial services or infection control is a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience in janitorial work, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
