We’re actively seeking a talented Sr. Software Engineer to join our Application Development Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be 100% on-site or hybrid. As a Software Engineer II, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by building applications and tools that solve internal business problems. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 7 people in the Technology and Digital team within the Consumer Markets Division. Your colleagues will include other Engineers, QA Analysts, a Product Owner and a Systems Analyst. How you will make an impact: Consistently deliver web-based digital and enterprise software solutions Collaborate with other team members to design and implement innovative engineering solutions using cloud technologies. Build engaging, easy to use, modern user interfaces. Implement secure, scalable APIs Define and implement data storage solutions Promote and drive quality engineering initiatives and best practices while participating in code reviews. Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities and trends that can be leveraged to strengthen team's development practices. Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and self-improvement The experience you will bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience 2 years of industry experience in software development, architecture and/or cloud technologies delivering enterprise-scale web-based solutions and experiences. A passion for creating high-quality software and user interfaces 1 years active experience using a JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc.) Strong foundation with modern SDLC in various technologies (AWS Services, Python, React, Terraform or other IaaS, YAML, Git, PowerShell, RDBMS, NOSQL, Windows/Linux, CI/CD pipelines) Experience being part of a fast-paced agile software development team Strong sense of ownership and responsibility to deliver high quality results #LI-JA1 You belong at Pacific Life At Pacific Life we are committed to a culture of belonging, a space where all employees are empowered to be authentic. Base Pay Range: The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
