Pacific Lock Company is currently searching for an experienced leader to supervise our Warehouse Division. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall organization of PACLOCK’s warehouse to include receiving and storing parts, wrapping, strapping, and shipping pallets, maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse, and managing PACLOCK’s physical inventory accurately. Our Warehouse Supervisor plans and assigns resources and workers to maintain desired output levels. Reviews daily warehouse records to identify trends or potential performance issues. Additionally, our Warehouse Supervisor makes adjustments to teams and resources to maintain the required production rate. Monitors quality metrics to spot problems with materials, designs, or work processes.
We are searching for a strong leader who has a proven record of leading a complex and diverse team successfully. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Leader.
Qualifications
- 1 years forklift experience, both sit down and stand up
- Able to lift 5-40lbs, unassisted
- Able to work at height over 5 feet periodically
- Able to sustain periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Experienced in wrapping pallets for outbound shipping
- Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining and improving on internal processes.
- Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of both sit down and stand up forklifts
- Responsible for scheduling tasks for team members each day that maximizes on each team members’ strengths
- Ensures that tasks are completed in a timely manner and team members are always on task
- Troubleshoots both simple and complex situations that arise on a daily basis
- Responsible for maintaining clean work areas that are standardized within divisions
- Training employees in proper assembly techniques and safety procedures.
- Communicating regularly with the Supply Chain Leader for any scheduling or technical challenges faced.
- Evaluating the quality of work performed by employees to ensure each meets company standards.
- Responsible for inspiring our warehouse associates to be great in everything they do.
- Coordinating with the Supply Chain Leader to identify parts or materials needed both in the short term and long term.
- Ensuring that employees adhere to all safety and company policy regulations while on the job.
- Be adept at on-the-spot job performance corrections for employees whether the correction is verbal or written. Be able to concisely and accurately prepare both positive and negative written counseling forms that are in line with the Company’s core values.
Warehouse Supervisor Skills
- Responsible for maintaining and improving on internal processes.
- Leadership: At PACLOCK, leaders are expected to get their employees to do things that the employees would have not otherwise done on their own. This means that the Warehouse Supervisor needs to be able to use the right leadership techniques at the right time to inspire and motivate each team member fairly and uniformly during the work day. Be calm, cool, and collected at all times even during stressful situations.
- Communication: As the Warehouse Supervisor, this position needs to communicate with a variety of people including direct reports, other supervisors/managers, management, and executive management. Clear communication is a critical factor for this position.
- Problem Solving: Being able to firstly identify a problem is a must-have skill for this position. Problems must not be ignored, and they must be identified in short order. Once identified, the Warehouse Supervisor must address the problem and identify a root cause. If a solution can be crafted without any outside support, then the Warehouse Supervisor should take the initiative to correct the problem on his/her own. Should additional support be needed, then the Supervisor will engage with his/her supervisors in a timely manner so that a solution can be identify and implemented.
