Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Underground Construction Manager to lead and manage our civil/underground Teams and projects under the Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and the capability to ensure, quality, safety, and efficiency in all construction activities.
Key Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Oversee construction field operations with supervision and oversight of in house crews, subcontractors and inspection activities
- Working for the Market Lead, the Construction Manager will coordinate and schedule field activities and resources to complete the scope of work
- Have the ability to forecast construction start and completion dates as well as identify issues that will cause delays. Candidate will report issues or challenges to the Market Lead and propose solutions to keep projects on track
- Directly responsible for the overall success of construction projects including meeting project schedules and budget. Strong construction management, reporting, and budgeting skills are a must
- Identify additional subcontractors/resources to support various construction projects and oversee their quality and schedule
- Understand the project scope and capabilities and sourcing appropriate local vendors that meet requirements and state licensing requirements
- Demonstrated attention to quality construction practices and ensuring timely close out and delivery of the project schedule
- Cross team management with other departments and entities will be needed to ensure the timely build schedule

Demands and Work Environment
- This position operates at professional construction sites and in professional office environments, requiring the uses of standard office equipment, the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens and directions, stamina to maintain attention to details despite interruptions, ability to lift, climb with, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, ladders and/or towers; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around sites, in the air, or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
- Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
- Will be required to work outside, frequently for extended periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
Expected Position Hours
- This is a full-time position. Overtime may be required as job duties demand, and with prior approval.
- Must be able to work weekends, overnight, out of the market or away from home and willingness to travel overnight as work demands.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of (5) years of construction industry experience with at least (2) years in a supervisory role.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Requires the ability to use and manage multiple online computer applications/systems with technical proficiency.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and team-work skills.
- Highly organized and independent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable with cellular carrier standards such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
- Comfortable with heights and physical tasks such as climbing towers, squatting, bending, and lifting (up to 50lbs).
- If applicable, the ability to maintain FDOT logbooks, training will be provided
- Must be able to provide, record and manage paperwork (Excel, Word, etc.)
Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Mandatory possession of a current valid Driver’s License; CDL is advantageous.
- Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Ability to be covered by company auto Insurance.
- Successful completion and clearance of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background check.
