What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Teacher position at Pacifica Christian High?
Pacifica Christian High School is looking for a full-time instructor to teach 5 sections of math for the following courses: Pre-Calculus, Honors Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and AP Statistics.
Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree in math (or a related discipline) and have experience developing and delivering a rigorous curriculum to a diverse group of students.
The ideal candidate is also mature in Christian faith, with significant, sustained investment in a local church community and a life rich in devotion and/or spiritual discipline. We expect all Pacifica employees to support our community-wide project to use academics, extracurriculars, and personal relationships as a means of grace to help all involved become more fully human in the recognition and restoration of the image of God within us.
Duties
- Teach 5 sections of math throughout the academic year: Pre-Calculus, Honors Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and AP Statistics.
- Maintain a growth mindset and work with administration to set and achieve goals related to professional development.
- Uphold Pacifica’s standards of personal presentation, preparation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion.
- Embody and demonstrate enthusiasm and support of the school’s mission and values.
- Effectively integrate Christian faith and worldview into the curriculum.
- Participate actively in Pacifica’s campus community, both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Develop strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
