Responsibilities

Job purpose

The Wrapper position is responsible for performing Line 6 operations and maintains the flow of finished products from the oven area to packaging.

Duties and responsibilities

The primary job duties and responsibilities are:

• Follow all documented procedures for the position.
• Gathers finished products and feeds into wrapper.
• Conducts frequent quality checks of finished products and remove defects.
• Maintains and completes paperwork which includes bundle tags, skid tickets, and production reporting.
• Attend to Line 6 oven jams immediately.
• Stack finished products on skid according to established procedures.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
• Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
• Informs Natural Team Leader and/or Production Supervisor of any problems.
• Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
• Maintains excellent safety record.
• Maintains excellent attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

Experience required:

• At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment; including successful completion of jobs or similar activities requiring control of a mechanical process and inspection of product to meet quality standards.
• Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills

An individual must have the following skills in the Wrapper position:

• Ability to work safely and to communicate with others in a professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability sufficient to determine product quality, for example, carton malformations, color verification, and structural integrity.
• Demonstrated hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient for product handling.           

Physical requirements

This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:

• Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
• Sitting for extended periods of time (occasional)
• Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
• Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)

Working conditions

An individual that works in the Wrapper position:

• Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Macon lies near the state's geographic center, about 85 miles (137 km) southeast of Atlanta, hence the city's nickname, "The Heart of Georgia." Macon has an estimated population of 153,159. The Macon plant was built in 1967. It manufactures egg cartons, lunch trays, and shake trays. The Macon plant has approximately 218 employees. Macon was awarded World-Class Safety in  2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Macon also received the Operational Performance Plant of the year in 2015 and 2016 and Food Plant of the Year in 2016. The Macon plant has recently reached out to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and will be collecting canned and dried goods for the less fortunate.
