SELECTION PROCEDURE: Individuals interested in employment are required to complete an official district application. Applicants are asked to describe any training, education, experience or skills relevant to this position. Resumes are optional. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees.

NATURE AND SCOPE: Working under the supervision of the certificated site coordinator provides instruction, works independently by managing classroom and students. Required to have a broad range of specialized skills and knowledge in order to provide instruction and maintain a classroom supportive of learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree, or one year of directly related experience may be substituted for each year of college, plus two years of experience instructing students in the designated specialized area, or successfully completing an in-service in classroom instruction.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

Employment with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements, including Board of Trustee approval. As part of the selection process, all new employees are required to provide the following information: new employees must be fingerprinted (paid by the District); TB test (paid by the employee); social security card; picture identification; and authorization to work (I-9).

PAY DAYS: Temporary employees are paid once a month on the 10th of the month.

The District is accepting applications for temporary and on-call positions to work for the After School Extending Learning Program.

The Enrichment Specialist classified positions are hired within the Afterschool Program. Hours may variety from 1 to 6 hour per week. Applicants are selected by the site coordinator on their site's needs.

Positions provide instruction in a specialized area and require either a Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of experience instructing students in the designed specialized area OR six (6) years of experience instructing students in the designated specialized area.

Examples of Enrichment activities: cheerleading, ceramics, nutrition/cooking or computer classes, P.E., which could include organized sports such as softball, basketball, or soccer. Other examples under the Fitness for Life program may include biking, dance, or swimming.
