Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

• Will be operating heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, dozers, and backhoes
• Will be performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Will load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
• Will complete required paperwork, forms, and records, as required
• Will coordinate machine actions with crew members in response to hand or audio signals
• Physical demands of this position include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally; 40-50 pounds frequently and carrying same along with constant sitting, grasping, and reaching, occasional climbing and walking

• Must be able to operate routinely used tools and equipment
• Must be able to work without close supervision, once directed on task
• Must obey and follow all safety rules on the job site and encourage others to do the same
• Must maintain a good relationship with co-works and works well with others to accomplish a task

Pre-Requisites

• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience on bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, scrapers, and graders
• Must have own reliable transportation, be highly motivated, and willing to travel
• Must be able to pass a required drug screen and background check (when needed, per site location)
• CDL preferred
