What we are about:

Purpose:

Palm Village Retirement Community has been serving seniors and the community for over 80 years and sits on a 17 acre campus on the southwest edge of Reedley across from the Kings River. We are a tax exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Our programs and care levels are designed to meet individual needs and encourage an active and friendly community for seniors.

Palm Village’s five levels of care include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Assisted Living Memory Care and Skilled Memory Care. Our primary goal is to ensure comfort, security, social support, proper healthcare, and promote independence.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing minor repairs and supplies of the facility. Must use care and good judgment in using supplies of the facility. Must use care and good judgment in using supplies and equipment. Follows established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department. Must be able to cooperate with other employees, department heads, and residents. Must be aware of and willing to tolerate the special traits and deficiencies of elderly people. Must use care and good judgment when operating and maintaining facility vehicles. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. At least one (1) year of experience is desired, but not required.The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing minor repairs and supplies of the facility. Follows established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department. Must be able to cooperate with other employees, department heads, and residents. Other Requirements:

1. Should be at least 18 years old.
2. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
3. Must be able and willing to perform duties inside and outside the facility when necessary.
4. Must have a valid California drivers license.

Working Conditions:

1. Must work in well-lighted, well ventilated building.
2. May have to stand, walk, kneel
3. Subject to burns, falls, cuts, and bruises.
4. May have to work outdoor during all types of weather to accomplish duties.
5. May be required to work any shifts and any days of the week. May be required to work after regular hours, on holidays, and weekends.
