Full Time Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Looking to hire a Full time Veterinary Technician/Assistant for 4 days a week. We are a privately owned, and pride ourselves on work/life balance. We are closed every weekend!

What we are looking for in a veterinary technician/assistant:

Happy, upbeat personality is always a plus, and being team oriented is very important. We are looking for a caring and compassionate person, who has the ability to stoop, bend, lift, and or stand for extended periods of time - and a great love for animals of course!

Veterinary Technician/Assistant Duties

- Client communication- record data on case history, provide basic education on animal care, nutrition, and medical conditions.

- Preparing and labeling medications and prescriptions.

- Blood, fecal, and urine collection

- Lab work- including but not limited to; fecal tests, urinalysis, in house blood-work, cytology preparation and reading.

- Radiography

- Prepare patients for surgery, calculating medication doses, administer intravenous and subcutaneous injections prior to, during and post procedure. Assist, monitor and record data for surgical procedure.

- Restrain and stabilize animals during exam and treatment.

- Administer medications, vaccinations, and perform routine procedures.

- Instruct clients how to administer medications and apply care at home

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
