Role Overview
The Studio Manager / Client Success Manager is the heart of our studio operations and the champion of our client experience. You'll orchestrate day-to-day operations, guide new clients through transformative fitness assessments, and nurture our training team to deliver exceptional results. This role is ideal for a relationship-focused fitness professional who excels at creating welcoming environments, building meaningful connections, and empowering teams to achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities: Client Success & Business Development
- Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments for new clients and match them with ideal trainers
- Serve as primary client success manager, ensuring satisfaction and long-term retention
- Drive membership growth through exceptional client experiences and referral generation
- Handle client feedback, membership upgrades, and proactive retention strategies
Team Leadership & Operations
- Create welcoming, inclusive environments where clients feel supported and empowered
- Build authentic relationships that foster long-term client success and community
- Nurture and develop a diverse team of 30 certified personal trainers
- Facilitate meaningful performance conversations and professional growth opportunities
- Oversee daily facility operations, presentation standards, and equipment maintenance
- Coordinate scheduling, coverage, and trainer development programs
Performance & Growth
- Track and optimize key metrics: client acquisition, retention rates, trainer performance, and revenue growth
- Collaborate with marketing team on promotional campaigns and community outreach
- Manage backend systems including Mindbody for scheduling, client notes, and transactions
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and service enhancements
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent)
- 2 years of fitness management or studio leadership experience
- Proven track record in client success, team leadership, or business development
- Experience with fitness management software (Mindbody preferred)
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
Ideal Background
- Former athlete or sports background highly valued
- Experience managing fitness studios or boutique fitness facilities
- Marketing, communications, or business education
- Track record of driving performance improvements and measurable results
- Bay Area fitness market experience preferred
