What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist (MT) position at Palo Pinto General Hospital?
Job Summary: Performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by performing the following duties. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance as required. Obtains specimens from patients when necessary. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required minimum education: Bachelors degree or completion of technical training equivalent to a four year program with associated licensure.
Required minimum experience: One year of medical laboratory experience preferred. Current CPR Certification desirable.
Required skills (if applicable): Knowledge of medical laboratory collection, testing, and use of equipment. Ability to interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Required license/certification: MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
