The Role
The physician liaison will support the overall organization through the identification, development, and maintenance of referring provider relations. The physician liaison will be the primary sales and marketing person responsible for building relationships between physicians' offices and our healthcare system to increase the number of patients referred to our facility for treatment and care. This role will report to our VP of Marketing and will serve as our representative for doctors, medical practices, and hospitals. The physician liaison will bridge the communication gap between referring doctors and specialty physicians.
To be a successful physician liaison, you should demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills. You should also be willing to travel to complete your duties.
Job Duties
Business Development:
- Surveying local primary and specialty physicians to increase the number of patient referrals to the healthcare system.
- Meeting with local physicians to promote our facility's services.
- Helping doctors to build and maintain relationships with specialists and surgeons to refer patients with confidence.
- Growing physician referrals and connecting our facility with the local healthcare community.
- Meeting with referring doctors to discuss patient care, referrals, new treatments, and thanking them for existing referrals.
- Increasing high revenue procedures and surgeries.
- Reporting to the VP of Marketing and physician owners, and ensuring compliance with the marketing goals and philosophies of our facilities.
- Reporting on your progress in building referrals and managing practitioner relationships.
- Arranging and leading public relations campaigns and awareness efforts.
- Meeting with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging in all forms of communication
Other Relevant Duties:
- Management of in-house and external referral processes.
- Meeting with patient care coordinators in-office to ensure consistent messaging from start to finish.
- Continuing Education Event planning/execution.
- Coordination of physician networking events, luncheons, and additional speaking opportunities.
Requirements
Who You Are
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, healthcare administration, or related field, or comparable experience.
- Experience in healthcare/eye care sales preferred.
- General medical knowledge, especially related to our facility's services, treatment offerings, and equipment.
- A willingness to travel, up to 40%.
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members at all levels of our organization.
- Highly organized.
- Exceptional report/copywriting skills.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
Additional Job Details
This position is based in the Denver /Lakewood area.
Travel within our network will be required.
This is a Full-Time Position.
Compensation for this role will be $65k - $75k annually based on experience/certification.
