What You'll Do

Performs assignments in technical processes for the Safeguards & Security Personnel Security program. This position will be responsible for Foreign Ownership, Control, and Influence (FOCI) operations at Pantex. Uses Federal and M&O databases and processes to provide support. Serves as an HSPD-12 role holder as directed by management. Provides other clearance support as directed by management. Supports Pantex DOE and M&O organizations with clearance processing, badging, and PERSEC process actions for cleared subcontractors assigned to Pantex. Notifies management of cleared subcontractor activity and assist with controlling their physical and logical access to Pantex. Performs customer service activities, and interacts and communicates with federal and contractor personnel in support of security programs. Maintains accurate database records and runs database queries. Following guidance from management, initiates and controls the actions of the workgroup and assists in maintaining team focus to accomplish tasks to standard.


Provides guidance to the clearance processing and access control staffs on cleared subcontractors. Handles minor personnel matters associated with the work group, and makes recommendations to management. Provides guidance and personal interaction to promote positive work environment and encourages individual involvement. Identifies and assists in solving problems within the work group. Provides training to badging and clearance staff and assists with ongoing employee development. Makes decisions within the work group and provides recommendations to management. Maintains Personnel Security equipment and ensures resources are available to employees. Contributes to the safety and customer service attitude and expectations for performance at the work site. Performs process troubleshooting. Works as an integral team member with effort directed toward achieving Personnel Security Program goals.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
Preferred Job Requirements

Must have general knowledge of all Personnel Security Programs, to include Badging, Visit Control, Clearance Processing, Security Awareness and HSPD-12 Badging Program. This person must be knowledgeable of applicable DOE Orders and Directives and assist supervisor with assessments, surveys and audits. Must be proficient in all applicable DOE, Federal, and CNS Databases. Requires proficiency in written and oral communication skills, computer skills and management techniques.

  • Facilitating meetings involving complex issues requiring the ability to direct other professional staff members
  • Analyzing a given situation
  • Identifying causes and proposing a course of action for correction
  • Presenting information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word; and exercising initiative, independent judgment, and discretion under limited supervision.
  • The employee must have interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others, build rapport, and establish positive working relationships and demonstrated proficiency with word processing.

The minimum education and experience for the lowest career level in the job posting range are listed under Minimum Job Requirements. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
