What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at PAR Western Line Contractors, LLC?
Our growing company is seeking to hire an Estimator, who develops and can assist in developing proposals for overhead and underground electric projects for utility customers. In addition to the pricing element, proposal submittals may include work plans, schedules, QA/QC, and other documents relative to the specific project. Attendance for pre-bid job and project turn over meetings will be part of the work, along with understanding the customer documents in order to ask questions and develop clarifications for the proposal.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction plans, material requirements and cost estimates for electrical distribution and transmission overhead and underground projects.
- Leads and assists in the development of, conductor replacement, structure replacements, and other Overhead projects.
- Shows basic knowledge of the Underground Distribution System and can accurately estimate single location and small projects such as switch replacements and minor recabling jobs.
- Performs field visits to gather technical data accurately minimizing the need for additional visits.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meets all requirements.
- Accurately communicates with internal staff and customer with appropriate medias (email, fax, phone, video, etc.).
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Has a basic knowledge of construction standards and industry practices.
- Has a basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe.
