This job operates in an office setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This job operates in an office setting. It may at times require traveling to various locations within an office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, and reach as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Although this is generally a Monday through Friday position, there may be scheduled times of work outside of usual business hours. Significant events can occur at any given time that require working. Ongoing direction and support may be necessary if systems are not properly implemented, continuously improved, and monitored.
Travel
This role may at times require travel to company affiliates and to potential acquires to conduct due diligence.

Responsibilities
Management & Leadership
- Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, controls, and organizational structures, including complex entity structures and intercompany relationships
- Oversee accounting operations across the company and affiliated entities, including general accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Manage loan applications, financial reports, and outsourced accounting and audit services
- Directly supervise Deputy Controller staff and foster a positive, high-performing work environment.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of cash and credit transactions across multiple entities
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, debt payments, and maintenance of charts of accounts for complex organizational structures
- Maintain orderly accounting records and robust internal controls
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements and operational reports for complex, multi-entity organizations
- Coordinate audits, annual reports, cost reporting systems, and consolidated reporting
- Develop and report financial and operating metrics, benchmarks, and budget variances
- Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants across entities
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of all required regulatory and compliance documentation
- Partner with General Counsel on finance- and treasury-related risk management
- Collaborate with facility leadership, AP/AR teams, and cross-functional partners to achieve organizational goals
- Maintain strong relationships with external accountants and auditors
- Apply strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards to support multi-entity operations and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to manage and report on complex entity structures and intercompany activity
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and business process improvement skills
- Ability to anticipate business and accounting cycles and optimize operational efficiency
- Effective communicator with strong leadership, mentoring, and succession-planning capabilities

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Understanding of and experience with financial compliance, contracting, and auditing requirements
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with GASB and FASB preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- 7 years of accounting experience, including leadership and staff management
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and business process improvement skills
- CPA Preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a professional, collaborative approach
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and sound judgment with the ability to anticipate issues
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Demonstrated critical thinking, active listening, and continuous learning
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with team members, vendors, and stakeholders
