Fabricator
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the stocking, cutting, punching, and bending of sheet metal pieces.
REPORTING:
Reports to the Production Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and use measuring devices such as ruler, squares, and measuring tapes
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences
- Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming and functions
- Fork lift certification or willing to obtain one
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safely operate heavy duty machinery including shear, break, belt grinders, and CNC equipment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lay out, measure, and mark raw sheet metal
- Stock and pull raw sheets of metal
- Sharpen punch pieces using a belt grinder
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff or smooth surfaces using hand or power tools.
- Cut, punch and bend sheet metal pieces
- Program CNC machines using shop drawings
OTHER FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Use, clean and maintain tools, equipment and work area in a safe manner
- Lift up to 70-pound sheet metal pieces
- Help in other areas of production if needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
