What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staffing Coordinator position at Parc Provence?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that adequate staffing is available for all households to provide quality care in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations. The Staffing Coordinator also represents Parc Provence to the residents, their guests, families and the community. Each employee makes a significant contribution to our success in fulfilling our mission to safely provide the highest quality services, programs and facilities possible to enhance the quality of life for each resident every day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities described below are representative, but not necessarily all-inclusive, of the position:
1. Create monthly schedules to ensure adequate staffing in each household and on each shift. All schedules should be dated as revised whether written or computer based.
2. Daily staffing sheets are to be completed timely and accurately and to be posted timely in all households and to administration.
3. Assist in taking calls to ensure adequate staff and cover call-ins.
4. Perform duties of Charge Nurse, CMT and Resident Care Specialist (CNA) as needed to ensure proper staffing of the community.
5. Track attendance and tardiness on all nursing staff including vacation days, personal days, sick time, safety days, etc.
6. Be fair and consistent with all nursing staff at all times.
7. Maintain a professional demeanor and maintain confidentiality at all times.
8. Schedule changes for any staff must be well communicated with the individual and/or the department if a new schedule is being posted.
9. Maintain a direct, firm approach to balance the number of nursing employees, their requests and to meet coverage.
10. Communicate with the DCS of staffing needs/concerns.
11. Utilize PT and PRN staff to cover open shifts to minimize OT.
12. Responsible for RCS staff recruitment, participate in the interviewing and selection process and ensure all hiring processes are followed.
13. Complete new hire physicals, PPD’s and other required staff vaccines as needed.
14. Follow State Regulations and policies & procedures as set by the DCS and Administration in all areas of duties.
15. Report maintenance/ safety items to DCS or Administrator or receptionist or MOD if on the weekend.
16. Follow established guidelines for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding residents and their personal information.
17. Participate in all training offered by employer
18. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
19. Participate in MOD rotation schedule.
20. Participate in On-Call rotation.
21. Complete payroll for non-exempt nursing staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read and write. Must be a C.N.A, CMT, or LPN in the State of Missouri.
Experience:
Prefer 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in long term care and have a working knowledge of operational standards in a long term care community.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Oral/Written Communication Skills:
Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to interact pleasantly and effectively with staff, residents and families and possess clear verbal and written communication skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Occasionally walking, standing, using arms and hands, handling, grasping and feeling, bending, lifting items up to 80 lbs. and assisting residents with walking or pushing wheelchairs.
2. Frequently organizing, consulting, planning, documenting, and sitting.
3. Adequate hearing and vision.
4. Constantly understanding and compliance with instruction and policies.
5. Constantly working in inside conditions with residents.
6. Constantly working alone and frequently with others.
7. Frequently working with blood borne pathogens.
