What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Tech position at Park 100 Foods, Inc.?
This position performs Quality Assurance (QA) tests and laboratory checks to ensure finished products are meeting food safety regulations and product specifications at all times. At any time duties and responsibilities may be added, modified, or changed at the discretion of management – formally or informally, verbally or in writing – due to the nature of a food manufacturing business.
- Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices.
- Follow and comply with applicable regulatory standards (State Health Dept., FDA, USDA, etc.)
- Monitor cleaning records and frequencies
- Develop and implement food safety programs related to production
- Follow-up on customer complaints and correspond with production and sales related to complaints
- Monitor accuracy of analytical testing and ensure the product is compliant with product specification
- Manage product specifications
- Maintain documentation from suppliers related to food safety
- Maintain resources related to regulatory compliance and product requirements
- Maintain and implement policies and procedures relating to GMP’s, food safety and regulatory compliance
- Perform all required job duties at a consistent pace, long periods of time on feet and an environment where temperatures range between 35F – 100F degrees.
- Conducts routine checks and testing in support of company policies and procedures, including but not limited to environmental swabbing, temperature checks and calibration checks for all assigned areas and equipment
- Deviations from QC programs in area of responsibility shall be brought to the attention of the Plant QA Director immediately. Recommend corrective actions on product not meeting quality standards. Be thoroughly familiar with product specifications for quality purposes.
- Responsible for assisting with in-plant organoleptic testing. Must become knowledgeable about all equipment used in the processing areas.
- Ensures product integrity through inspections and testing.
- Be aware of and report non-compliance with GMP’s and federal regulations regarding handling of products, proper clothing and hand washing rules.
- Be vigilant to prevent actions leading to injuries or accidents. Report any safety violations.
- Monitors labeling of finished product shipping bins to assure correct shipping of products for further processing.

- High School degree required. Prefer Associates Degree in Food Science, Production or related field.
