Summary: The Ice Skating Instructor will teach a variety of skating lessons in a positive, safe, educational, and fun environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruct skating lessons in accordance with the District skating curriculum and guidelines.
- Teach skills essential to the development and growth of the skaters abilities and progress.
- Attend all informational staff meetings.
- Assist with Ice Show, competitions, and exhibitions, as well as special events held at Centennial Ice Arena.
- Maintain records as required (i.e., attendance, progress reports, etc.).
- Follow all Park District policies and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Possess knowledge of skating maneuvers.
- Understand skill levels and teach in a progressive and safe manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Must be at least 15 years old with some high school experience or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule: depending upon instruction and class schedule
Classification: Non-exempt
