OVERVIEW
Description: Works with teachers on lesson plans to cover the following areas: gross and fine motor skills, art and music projects, free time, language development, and socialization skills. Stays involved in daily routine for the students (i.e. free play, circle time, etc.). Provides a variety of activities and materials that are age appropriate. Assists in the development and maintenance of an environment which is stimulating, inviting, and encourages individuality to strengthen self-esteem. Interacts with the children and encourages involvement in a variety of appropriate activities. Keeps the teacher informed of any concerns relating to the children. Maintains communication and cooperation with parents regarding child’s progress. Attends staff meetings and trainings as assigned. Needs to be able to foster children by keeping them busy among free play, helping with crafts and circle time. Along with being able to comfort a crying child by helping to redirect them or calm them with a story. A positive attitude and patience is required!
Qualifications and Education: Requires Two to three years of related experience with children ages birth to fives years. High school diploma or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood. Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Intermediate level written and verbal communication in the English Language
Availability: Approximate schedule is Monday-Friday from 9:15am-12:30pm. Work hours will vary by season.
