As an Assistant Business Office Manager/Medical Records Assistant, you are essential to the success of our community. You must uphold patient confidentiality and rights and maintain a well-organized system of open and closed medical records. You will report to the Business Office Manager and the Medical Records Manager.
You will:
- Assemble and label the admission records assuring chart tabs are readable
- Maintain records in proper order per open chart format
- Provide diagnostic and treatment information to third-party payers to support reimbursement claims
- Retrieve records for use by administrative or interdisciplinary personnel for resident care, quality improvement, incident tracking, investigation, and other authorized purposes
- Audit open charts
- Responsible for all discharge records, including filing charts.
You Currently:
- Have first-level accounting/bookkeeping experience. Typical candidates have prior experience in long-term care. Take initiative to proactively prevent A/R issue s and focus on facility collections following company process.
- Use Microsoft Office, computers, and office equipment efficiently. Follow up on accounts using outlook, Point Click Care, checklists, etc.
- Relate and communicate effectively with others
- Possess an interest in working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Basic knowledge of Medicaid programs.
- Assist in all areas of the Business Office (Payroll, Front desk, etc.)
- Have prior experience working in long-term care, and medical terminology knowledge is strongly preferred
- Strong HIPAA knowledge is preferred
- Read, write, speak and understand English.
- All final candidates will undergo a skills assessment test to measure their familiarity with computers and spreadsheets.
