Position Summary
The Recovery Manager will work cross-functionally to mitigate external customer production line disruptions and past due purchase order lines, typically caused either by supplier delinquencies, internal production execution challenges, schedule instability, manufacturing re-work, or test equipment failures. The Recovery Manager is the “voice of the customer” to balance demand with supply, and to set priorities for fulfillment in a critically past due environment, with the ultimate objective of driving performance improvements. When necessary, the Recovery Manager, will participate or lead root-cause/corrective action or lean initiatives to assist with performance improvements. - 1. Responsible for coordinating internal and supplier execution, in order to report timely, complete, and accurate information to external customers.
- 2. Conveys part status to customers in a manner that satisfies the customer(s) and demonstrates that Parker Hannifin has control of the situation and is mitigating in all reasonable ways customer production line impact.
- 3. Collaborates with all support functions (within Parker and at suppliers), as needed to gain credible and timely information to provide customer feedback on a cadence consistent with customer expectations.
- 4. Supports the production and material planning functions, to monitor material movement, arrival, and release to the production floor.
- 5. Supports the master scheduling function to establish build priorities.
- 6. Coordinates with the value streams to assist with part flow throughout facility.
- 7. Prepares line-of-balances and monitors part movement throughout production (in-house and at suppliers).
- 8. Prepares reports, presentations, graphs, charts, and other documentation as needed to effectively illustrate production recovery.
- 9. Acts as primary customer contact for matters regarding production status, schedule impacts, shipping information, and returned material.
- 10. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
- 11. Resolves issues concerning overshipments, shortages, changes, cancellations or other potential areas of order line item disconnect or impact.
- 12. Leads, manages, or participates in root cause/corrective action initiatives to drive quality or performance improvements at a supplier or within the internal production line.
- 13. Leads, manages, or participates in lean initiatives, including but not limited to, value stream mapping, capacity analysis/planning, lean events.
- 14. Assists in expediting quality and engineering issue resolution and approvals.
- 15. Addresses both simple and complex individual or systemic problems, issues or concerns that are representing a barrier to performance improvements.
- 16. Addresses customer scorecard metrics to accurately reflect actual performance.
- 17. Provides leadership or mentorship to others, including training, to promote the sharing of knowledge and growth of the function.
- 18. Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications - a. Bachelors degree (BA) in Engineering, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- b. Five or more years of experience within a manufacturing facility in the disciplines of Operations, Materials Planning, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Program Management or Customer Service. Experience within an aerospace manufacturing organization is preferred.
- c. Extremely articulate communication skills (written and verbal); able to deal with upset customers or difficult situations; able to coordinate and collaborate across functions; able to work with suppliers; able to present to all levels of an organization and executive leadership.
- d. Ability to manage customer complaints to prevent issues from escalating.
- e. Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing/production flow for similar parts. Experience in a turn-around or recovery situation is preferred.
- f. Ability to measure and improve supplier Line of Balances (LOBs) – and verify work in process.
- g. Ability to review yield/quality performance data, understand capacity, identify tooling/equipment gaps, evaluate demand signal, and ultimately – improve operational execution to achieve an elimination of past dues.
- h. Ability to read drawings and understand basic tolerancing. i.
- Established ability to manage multiple projects/activities, with the capacity to meet deadlines and achieve excellent results. j

- k. Proficiency with financial and manufacturing data analysis, to assist with critical decision making in resource planning, inventory management, and financial impact.
- l. Green Belt or Lean Expert certification is preferred.
