Position Summary
Our Quick Coupling Division is looking for a new Sourcing Specialist to help support individual sourcing projects and/or a set of assigned commodities using procurement tools and negotiation skills. This role will report to the Sourcing & Procurement Manager. The Sourcing Specialist works collaboratively and proactively to identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities.
What Is a Quick Coupling?
Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provides critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Fire & Rescue teams.
Essential Functions
- Sources suppliers, and may assist with bid evaluations, cost analyses, price justification, and risk assessment of suppliers.
- May assist with supplier negotiations on new procurements or changes to existing purchase orders.
- Assists in contract execution. implementation and supplier reviews for assigned contracts
- May drafts purchase orders and agreements for approval by the Sourcing & Commodity Manager.
- Coordinates and participates in supplier meetings.
Qualifications
- 4 year college degree Supply Chain management or relevant discipline.
- Experience and/or exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies, and manufacturing through internships or training programs.
- Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
- Must have intermediate computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
