Job Summary
The Lead Bartender at Hampton House is the point of connection between bar operations and management. This role is
responsible for leading, training, and motivating the bar team while having flawless execution of Hampton House’s elevated
standards. Beyond technical expertise, the Lead Bartender embodies the confidence, presence, and precision required to
curate our unmatched nightlife experience for guests.
The position blends service with strategy: supporting nightly execution while overseeing prep, inventory, staff development,
and beverage program consistency.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Training
- Train new bartenders on mechanics, recipes, standards, and service culture
- Provide ongoing education on spirits, cocktail execution, and prep position responsibilities
- Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with the Beverage Manager
- Support positive team culture by coaching, mentoring, and leading by example
Service Execution
- Oversee full bar service, cocktail station flow, and dining room beverage orders
- Ensure products are consistently prepared and served according to company specifications
- Support the atmosphere of Hampton House by engaging guests with professionalism, energy, and discretion
- Uphold responsible alcohol service standards in compliance with venue policy and law
Operations and Inventory
- Supervise daily bar prep, cleanliness, and cooler organization
- Ensure all batches are prepared correctly and product is stocked to par levels
- Assist with weekly bev. inventory in collaboration w/ Bev. Manager, keep correct unit-of-measure counts in R365
- Support ordering of liquor, wine, produce, and consumables, communicating shortages or needs proactively
- Maintain accountability for all bar stock and product security
Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with bartenders, bar backs, stockers, and managers to align service flow
- Work closely with the Beverage Manager to monitor product quality, stock levels, and program updates
- Coordinate with culinary staff for brunch items, garnishes, and kitchen-prepped bar products
- Anticipate team needs and step in where required to maintain smooth operations
Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk during most of shift
- Working at bar height (approx. 36”)
- Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs (boxes, kegs, stock)
- Reaching overhead, bending, or stooping
- Variable light, noise, and crowded environments
Qualifications
- 3 years bartending experience in luxury, high-volume nightlife or upscale hospitality
- Demonstrated leadership experience or supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Mastery of cocktail fundamentals, batching, and inventory processes
- TABC and Food Handler Certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills
- Availability for late nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in members-only clubs, entertainment venues, or luxury lounge settings
- Comfort serving celebrity or high-profile clientele discreetly
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Background in performance-driven environments a plus
Compensation
This role operates under a Service Charge pay model. A set service charge is automatically added to guest checks and
distributed among eligible front-of-house team members. This structure supports consistent, commission-based earnings
and qualifies for the 7(i) overtime exemption.
