Parkway Bank is looking for an onsite Mortgage Loan Documentation Specialist at our Harwood Heights, IL location. This is not a hybrid or work from home position. Responsible for documenting new loans, refinances, renewals and work-out loans. This position will work closely with others within the department to assist in the review and closing of real estate loan transactions. This position also performs other tasks necessary to ensure proper booking and servicing of the loan files.
Position Responsibilities:
Prepare commitment letters and new file setup- Process new loan files
- Coordinate with borrower and attorneys to determine, obtain and review documentation necessary for closings
- Proficiency or ability to learn Laser Pro documentation system
- Edit new loans
- Prepare renewal and modification documents and correspondence
- Book loans and modifications as follows:
- Enter loan data on FIS data processing system
- Perform loan maintenance as necessary
- Review title company loan policies to ensure compliance with escrow closing instructions
- Prepare partial and full payoff letters accurately and on time
- Prepare loan files for collection
- Coordinate with bank’s counsel
- Review and approve litigation and foreclosure documentation
- Prepare monthly board reports
- Prepare and process release documents for partially and fully paid loans accurately and on time
- Cross train with others within the departments to supply back up
- Completes all compliance courses by assigned dates and adheres to all compliance-related requirements
- Maintains an understanding and adheres to security and compliance procedures as well as bank policies and procedures
- Handles phone calls and inquiries as appropriate or directs calls to appropriate parties
- Complies with safe work rules; reports accidents and injuries immediately; cooperates in accident and injury investigations; reports defective equipment
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a bank mortgage loan department- Knowledge of bank operations and procedures
- Proficient using a PC, keyboard and computer mouse; ability to perform necessary computer-related input
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to effectively communicate (oral/written) at all levels within organization and with customers, attorneys, etc.
- Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documents
- Ability to operate and understand business machines and equipment
- Ability to work independently and follow through assignments to completion
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable when dealing with a changing work environment
- Effective judgment to solve problems, make decisions and react to unusual situations
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
