We’ve got what you’re looking for. Job Description: T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion contract includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work to be performed at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey in support of the Laboratory Engineering Branch. Electrical Designer will provide support in the preparation of full design packages, including but not limited to construction documents, construction cost estimates, and all required project documentation. Typical duties to include, but not limited to the following: Utilize AutoCAD to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings based on theoretical and practical design knowledge. Perform site surveys of infrastructure systems and accurately document conditions. Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures. Work closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. Ensure compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications. Review supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required. Check orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Perform checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor. Assist in training lower level Designers in various procedures. Requirements: Associate's or equivalent technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred. 8 years of electrical design related experience in facilities, power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, fire alarm systems and controls, grounding, lightning protection, Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS) and security systems. Strong AutoCAD and PC skills, as well as efficiency in utilizing computer software to complete design assignments Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), Life Safety Codes, International Building Code, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Must be able to pass government background check. Preferred Skills: Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred. Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred. Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
