SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This position supports the centralized processing of vehicle titles that includes the review, correction, and submission of required documentation to prefect liens in a timely and accurate manner, tracking the receipt of perfected & outstanding titles, the input of information into the core system, processing payoff, and release of collateral along with assisting both staff and members with any and all title questions to assure a high level of member satisfaction while satisfying PCCU’s policies.
CORE COMPETENCIES
· Verify completed documentation including title application, loan agreement, fees, and sales tax for the transfer of ownership and/or lienholder and submit to the motor vehicle office of the borrower(s) residence
o Submit UCC data to state agencies as needed for non-titled collateral
· Ensures that lien interest for titled collateral is perfected within regulatory guidelines
· Accurately processes payoff payments received from dealerships and facilitates the release of collateral which may include UCC statement of lien filing or release
· Monitors and promptly responds to requests for assistance with problem resolution or research specifics to the receipt of overdue title from a third party
· Provide assistance to dealerships, members or insurance companies requesting title research or Lien Release Letters when needed
· Maintains file maintenance, history, account notes by inputting information into the loan core system including scanning of title documents into the optical storage system
· Researches and maintains current reports for missing and outstanding titles continuously tracking until receipt of the perfected title
· Prompt assistance to inquiries by staff or members regarding the requirements and preparation of documents for both paper and electronic perfection of a lien
· Provides suggestions for improved service, efficiency, policy enhancement, or recommended changes
· Maintain current knowledge of DMV rules and regulations
· Maintain an adequate supply of necessary forms for vehicle titling, ex: Secured Bill of Sale and Secured Power of Attorney
· Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems
· Participate as a team member to provide quality, professional work.
· Assist with other department functions as needed: Paid Loan Report and ensure titles are delivered to members, safe deposit box entry, mail distribution, Due Date Changes and Skip-A-Pay requests
· Performs other functions within the Quality Control department as needed as required by management.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
· Knowledgeable with all forms of collateral and loan documentation, including but not limited to: vehicle titles, security agreements, State forms, odometer statements, UCCs, MSOs, power of attorneys, tax receipts, etc.
· Knowledge of basic principles of lending
· Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge, required
· Clear written and verbal communication while maintaining a top-notch, courteous, and professional disposition towards members and co-workers
· Ability to remain organized and multi-task and have good time management in a fast paced, high volume environment
· Ability to work with minimum supervision, meet deadlines, resolve problems and deal effectively with members, co-workers, and the general public.
· Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion
· Exhibit sound judgment and common sense
· Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
· Must have manual dexterity to input data via keyboard
· Must have visual ability to interpret data from CRT screen and written documents.
· Schedule: In office attendance required, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Previous title experience is a plus. At least one year but no less than two years of similar or related experience required, preferably within a financial institution or office setting.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Starting hourly rate - $22.79 - $26.15 dependent upon experience
