Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead and manage multi-disciplinary environmental programs for major transportation infrastructure projects in the Edmonton region. You will be responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, permitting, environmental assessments, mitigation planning, and stakeholder engagement in collaboration with engineering and construction teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of Alberta’s regulatory frameworks and a proven ability to lead complex environmental components of large-scale transportation projects.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the environmental planning and permitting aspects of highway,
bridge, and road construction projects across Alberta.
- Manage environmental assessments (EIAs, ERs, SAs) and
regulatory applications under provincial and federal legislation (e.g., AEP, DFO, Impact Assessment Act).
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and environmental teams
to ensure environmental risks are identified and managed early in project
development.
- Develop and implement mitigation and monitoring plans for
wildlife, wetlands, water quality, air quality, and noise.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulators, clients,
Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee field programs for baseline studies, construction
monitoring, and post-construction audits.
- Lead and mentor junior and intermediate staff; manage project
budgets, schedules, and client deliverables.
- Participate in business development including proposal writing,
client relationship management, and contributing to strategic growth
initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology,
Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional designation preferred (e.g., P.Biol., P.Ag., P.Geo., P.Eng., RPF, or equivalent).
- 7 years of environmental consulting or industry experience, with at least 5 years managing transportation-related projects.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta and federal environmental
legislation, including the Water Act, Public Lands Act, and Fisheries
Act.
- Experience with Indigenous engagement and traditional knowledge
integration in project planning is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary teams,
budgets over $500K, and complex regulatory pathways.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship
skills.
