Starting Pay Range $35.00 - $47.50 - Hourly Depending on experience Job Description: Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Plans and conducts regularly scheduled individualized lessons in the school site utilizing a variety of materials and teaching techniques. Demonstrates and models strategies for the development of listening skills and communication skills through interaction with the student. Conveys information about types, use, care and benefits of listening technology (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, and cochlear implants) to family members and staff involved with the child. Share materials and plans with others. Collect and document ongoing data on the student progress toward achieving outcomes and facilitate the accomplishment of the outcomes as stated in the IEP. Attends IEP meetings as required. Assesses the academic and auditory skill development of pupils, utilizing formal and informal measures as needed. Develops and implements curriculum activities that correlate to the students objectives. Monitors learning and adjusts teaching strategies and activities accordingly. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of the deaf culture. Ability to teach students of grades K-12. Ability to work with children of all ages. Ability to understand, adopt, and support the independent study program, concepts and their philosophies. Ability to organize and present ideas effectively in oral and written form. Ability to make skillful decisions. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to operate a PC computer, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, copier, FAX, and other office machines. Education and Experience: BA/BS Degree required. Valid California Credential or equivalent to provide instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students.
