- Bilingual Responsibilities –Identifies translation needs. Draft outgoing correspondence and other materials as assigned. Attend and represent P4K at assigned outreach events in the community.
- Program Facilitation - Plans, coordinates, and facilitates year-round programming to support the agency’s mission and goals. Provides a safe and secure environment for relationship development and learning. Communicates with students, parents/guardians about meeting schedules and provides reminders to maintain a high level of retention. Identifies translation needs for target schools. Interprets at target school and agency events. Assists in translation of outgoing agency communication pieces written and verbal to bilingual students/partners/communities meeting all school needs.
- Student Lesson Plans – Supports agency objectives by contributing information and recommendations for curriculum planning. Prepares lesson plan guidelines and handouts and notifies students, mentors, and school administrators of meeting logistics.
- Program Outreach and Student Recruitment – Cultivates and builds relationships with students, teachers, school administration, volunteers, and corporate partners to further P4K’s mission. Serves as a liaison between the organization and target middle/high schools and maintains regular communication with school officials and partnering programs in those schools,. Works closely with program staff across different grade levels to ensure students transition seamlessly into the program continuum. Participates in student recruitment activities. Maintains communication with school officials and agency staff on the recruitment process.
- Youth/Family Case Management & Engagement Opportunities – Provides case management based on expectations to support academic goals, attendance barriers, and identify resources within the school and surrounding community with assigned students. Case management and other engagement activities may be conducted at the school, P4K office, the student’s home, or other approved locations or venues.
- Volunteer Support – Provides guidance and communication to all volunteers involved in year-round programming. Follows P4K Match Support Guidelines and Program Coordinator expectations as set forth in agency policies and procedures. Facilitates ongoing mentor and student engagement year-round. Communicates with the supervisor and recruitment staff to identify volunteer needs or issues in a timely manner. Provides recognition to mentors and solicits feedback.
- Program Data Management – Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student and match-related information in agency databases. Following program policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all participants is of the highest priority. Notifies Program Director and appropriate authorities immediately of any child safety issues or abuse/neglect allegations. Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office are required.
- Team & Agency Goals – Contributes to programming, development, volunteer, and agency goals. Including, special projects/events and all other duties as assigned. Attends relevant required job training. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience in the areas of human service or education.
- Fluency in Spanish and English languages required.
- Minimum of one year’s experience working with at-risk youth of relevant age groups in an after school or school-based environment.
- Previous volunteer management, teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Demonstrates effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Daily access to a reliable vehicle for travel to meetings and transporting youth, as needed. State minimum liability insurance requirements must be maintained for the duration of employment. Driver’s license and acceptable driving record must be maintained throughout employment. Refer to the employee policy and procedure manual for a complete list of acceptable driving information and requirements. Program Coordinators will be required to drive 10-15 passenger van for various events and outings.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
