Location:

Monmouth/Salem and outlying areas - Will include regular travel with mileage reimbursement

Type of Position:

40-hour flex- may include evenings and weekends. Shifts are dependent on the work schedules of people supported in jobs

Starting Wages/Benefits:

  • Wages start at $17.50. Up to additional $2.00/hr with the completion of training and certifications.

Description & Details: A Job Launch Employment Support Professional is a mission focused team member dedicated to supporting people to explore their employment interests, skills and strengths so that they can obtain jobs of their choosing in the general workforce. This position will require knowledge and an adherence to Oregon’s Employment First Policy and advanced training in employment specific practices.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old when employment begins
  • Pass a State/Federal Criminal History Check
  • Background screening including employment and education history
  • Pre-employment drug screening (for the use of illegal drugs in Oregon)
  • Valid ODL with an insurable driving record
  • Be able to be certified and maintain certification with First Aid/CPR
  • Be fully vaccinated (or willing to become fully vaccinated while completing Orientation) against COVID-19 (subject to limited exemptions based on medical conditions, sincerely held religious beliefs, and/or applicable state laws and regulations)
  • Preference given to those with current ACRE or CESP Certification

Essential Functions, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Be instrumental in supporting people in their pursuit of employment goals and creative in offering new experiences and opportunities
  • Analyze, plan, implement and initiate services for people receiving employment services, including , job accommodations or coordination of transportation needs
  • Develop relationships with employers, potential employers and the business community to promote the abilities of the person pursuing employment
  • Facilitate, educate, champion, and advocate, while being a community inclusion expert and a highly skilled committed professional
  • Engage in ongoing training and education to maintain Employment Support Professional associated certification and skill level in order to stay relevant to system changes
  • Provide exemplary documentation for data tracking and County/Brokerage and VR billing processes ( i.e., Therap data tracking, Discovery Profiles, VR assessment documents, and monthly VR reporting)
  • Follow all individual emergency procedures and health protocols and obtain access to emergency medical assistance as needed for those receiving employment supports
  • Identify where changes are needed, problem solve and initiate a process to address issues that may result between employers, residential providers and people receiving services

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and Career Exploration processes
  • Identify and create assessment sites in the local business community
  • Conduct a variety of assessments and/or work experiences

Marketing and Job Development

  • Assist people with identifying skills and potential employment opportunities
  • Engage local businesses in identifying competitive employment opportunities
  • Support people in achieving and maintaining employment by providing assistance with; resumes, interviews, communication, personal goals, and skill development

Job Coaching

  • Provide orientation and training at the individual place of employment
  • Provide systematic instruction with the intention of appropriately fading supports in order to ensure a person’s optimal independence while working
  • Assist with or provide, if necessary, any assistance needed to ensure that the work a person does meets the standards that the job requires
  • Facilitate on-going communication with employer and coworkers as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour
