What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Parvin Animal Clinic?
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF A VETERINARY KENNEL ASSISTANT?
- Animal care (walking dogs, providing food and water to dogs and cats, cleaning up after them, sanitizing kennels, etc...)
- Observes patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report to veterinarian or senior staff.
- Prepare patient meals, sanitize patient cages and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennel area.
- Bathing, trimming nails, expressing anal glands and cleaning ears.
- Able to lift 40 pounds.
- Maintain a clean hospital environment (sweeping, mopping, dusting, taking out trash, laundry, etc) daily.
- Provide assistance to our veterinarians and staff.
- Rotate weekend and holiday shifts.
- Capable of working independently.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in a busy clinic environment and proactively identify tasks required to ensure clinic cleanliness and animal care.
- Basic communication skills.
- Paying attention to animals.
- A love for animals is a must!

Pay: From $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17 – 25 per week
