Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating techniques such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary styles.
- Teach engaging dance classes that promote proper technique, musicality, and performance skills while maintaining a lively and motivating atmosphere.
- Develop original choreography for performances, recitals, and competitions that showcase students’ talents and progress.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively by employing behavior management strategies suitable for children, preschoolers, and adult learners.
- Provide personalized feedback to students to support their growth in dancing, childhood development, and early childhood education.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to track student progress and address individual needs or special education considerations.
- Incorporate additional skills such as photography for promotional materials or sewing for costume design to enhance overall program quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or contemporary dance with a focus on classroom management and lesson planning.
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored to children’s early childhood education or adult education settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds, including experience with children, preschoolers, or individuals with special needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques suitable for classroom experience.
- Skills in choreography creation for performances or competitions that inspire confidence and artistic expression.
- Familiarity with photography for capturing performances or promotional content; sewing skills are a plus for costume design.
