ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is the heart of our operation. Our Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate and organized product inventory. This includes tracking deliveries, receiving shipments, back-stocking, and sending back product during seasonal flips. Our Inventory Specialist also oversees all aspects of online order fulfillment, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers and processing online returns.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Receiving new inventory (must be comfortable lifting boxes up to 50lbs and carrying them upstairs).
- Processing and mailing products back to the manufacturer.
- Back stocking product with organization and accuracy for all members of staff to find and retrieve.
- Filling online orders and processing online returns.
- Sending back recycle programs, including plastics and Common Threads.
- Answering both customer and staff questions regarding online order inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
- Being available to open/close registers, set shop alarms, and open/close shop as main point person when needed.
- Ensuring product inventory is accurate through cycle counts and checking for missing items.
- Running product pulls to replenish the sales floor.
- Keep back stock spaces, upstairs and second floor stock rooms, clean, vacuumed, and organized.
- Being able to assist the sales floor when needed.
- Implements action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity
- Represents the brand and understands the competitors
WHO YOU ARE:
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Honest, friendly, positive attitude, and able to work well with a team and individually self-motivated
- Ideal candidate would have experience with shipping and receiving, but not required
- Able to work quickly and efficiently
- Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Drive, and other Google Workspace web apps
- Be able to lift 20 to 50-pound boxes
- Passionate about the outdoors, the environment, and conservation
- Be able to work around the shipping cycles of the store (very busy between February through March and August through December)
- Committed to long-term tenure at the shop
- Candidate would also need to be comfortable and willing to work on the sales floor during slower shipping times and providing stellar customer service with knowledge about the brand.
