What are the responsibilities and job description for the Division Controller position at Patrick Industries?
Patrick Industries is hiring energetic and experienced Division Controllers to join our growing team at the Corporate Office. The Division Controllers are responsible for the oversight, leadership and coordination of accounting, financial reporting, financial management, business management and budgeting efforts as it relates to the operation of Patrick Industries for specific Business Units assigned to them.

Reporting to a Group Controller, the Division Controller works closely with Leaders in Business Units within manufacturing and distribution in growing segments of our organization to include RV, Marine or Manufactured Housing.
Other essential job functions will include:
- Guides Business Unit financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans to Business Unit Leaders
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Monthly financial reporting
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Responsible for the assisting in the filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· Candidates should have 5 years’ of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
· Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations and a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP required
· Minimum of 2 years in public accounting is desired
· Those with experience in manufacturing are desired
· Experience to include general understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional with the ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management
· Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
· Strong accountability and follow-through skills
· Strong analytical/critical thinking
· A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
