We are looking to hire an Armed Security Officer to join our team in the Virginia and Maryland areas where we will provide Force Protection solutions that protect and deter sophisticated threats and global attacks.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Armed Security Officer is the spear tip of our force protection security operations. Your diligence, mission focus and passion for maintaining national security make you the first line of defense in PGI’s comprehensive force protection security design.

Your duties in the role include (but are not limited to):

• Control access to facilities by monitoring security equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the facility have the proper identification.
• Respond to situations on facility using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed by following established Use of Force Policy.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
• Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
• Maintains proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen at least 21 years of age at time of employment.
• Must possess minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
• Must be registered, certified, licensed, insured and or bonded to provide armed guard / private security services, as required by the appropriate municipality, county, state, or other government entity having jurisdiction in the location(s) to which services are provided.
• Must have at least one of the following:
  • Six (6) months experience in a VA, MD, DC, etc. (state licensed) security services occupation (armed/unarmed guard, etc.)
  • Six (6) months experience as a federal, state, or municipal law enforcement officer or dispatcher with successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
  • Be a current or former military member (honorably discharged) of the United States armed forces with military security / force protection experience (i.e., military police, security forces, Marine Security Guard).
• Be capable and willing while on duty to carry a loaded weapon that can be put into action should an issue arise.
• Armed Security Officers may not have a criminal felony record or any other federal or civil order barring them from purchasing / carrying a firearm in the jurisdiction to which they are assigned.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Successfully pass criminal, credit, and driving record checks.
• Must be able to pass all training and obtain required certifications.
• Valid driver's license

Desired Qualification(s):

• Possession of an associate degree in a security or law enforcement related field.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waist.
• Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, walk long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.
• Must be physically capable of standing post for a prolonged period.
