Duties:
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes and equipment
- Assist with the operations of the public water systems in the area when needed
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or malfunctions
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters and tanks
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis and record data accurately
- Adjust chemical dosages to maintain proper water quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and test results
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all environmental regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years experience in water treatment or wastewater operations preferred
- Basic math skills for calculations and measurements
- Ability to operate heavy equipment used in wastewater treatment processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Plumbing or construction experience is beneficial
