Job Description

A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.

Laboratory Instructors in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program are assigned for specific class times when students require direct supervision of skills practice and/or testing. Assignments of instructors to specific stations and/or activities are made by the lead instructor for the individual course.

Regardless of the station or activity assigned, the laboratory instructor oversees the following:

The lead instructor will decide whether specific individual variations are permissible, subject to final determination by the Program Director and/or medical director.
2. Assuring that psychomotor and affective competency are evaluated according to the established criteria and documentation completed as needed.
3. Assuring that equipment and supplies are overseen appropriately, both for the safety of students and faculty, and for the protection of expensive resources. Any equipment damage must be reported to the lead instructor. Supplies are to be used only for the immediate laboratory activity and not removed from the College. Equipment and supplies are to be safely stored and secured at the end of class. Used supplies are to be disposed of appropriately, including biohazards and sharps.
4. Ensures that equipment and supplies are restocked as needed.
5. Ensures that proper PPE is used as needed for the skill being taught.
