Primary Function: Ability to facilitate the development of everyday self-care, pre-academic, and pre-vocational activities for eligible students. |

Qualifications:
Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher |
Occupational Therapist license |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance |
|
Performs appropriate assessment procedures |
|
Interprets assessment results for teachers, parents, and other personnel |
|
Supports the individual education plan for occupational therapy goals and treatment for eligible students |
|
Administers occupational therapy in accordance with the treatment plan as stated in the individual education plan |
|
Performs on-going evaluation of treatment programs and adapts program as necessary to maximize results |
|
Selects and manages adaptive equipment and/or assistive devices for use with upper trunks, arms, and hands, and aids in elimination of architectural barriers |
|
Maintains appropriate records and reports |
|
Lifts, positions, transfers, and performs special duties to meet the needs of moderately intellectually disabled, severely and profoundly intellectually disabled, and orthopedically impaired students |
