We are seeking a Oral Surgeon Assistant who is highly motivated and professional. Our beautiful, modern and well-established practice is committed to providing excellent patient care and is looking for someone who shares this same objective.
We are looking for a diligent oral surgery assistant to support our oral surgeon before, during and after each surgical procedure. Someone who is intelligent, reliable, flexible and detail oriented. Must be a hard worker, dependable and present an outgoing positive personality.
A successful oral surgery assistant should be highly organized and attentive to patients' needs. The oral surgery assistant should also have an excellent understanding of oral surgery procedures and an exceptional hand-eye coordination.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of oral surgery assisting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of how to use surgical instruments, equipment and materials.
- A profound understanding of all surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and safety and health protocols.
- Understands the importance of dental records and documentation.
- Punctual and reliable on a daily basis with a strong work ethic.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to provide excellent patient care under stressful situations.
- Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.
- Computer savvy and familiar with dental software.
- Ability to work independently and also be a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and escorts in a courteous, professional manner.
- Operating X-ray, 3D Scanning and Trios equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Communicates with doctors, medical staff and dental offices to obtain referral notes, lab work, x-rays and scans.
- Preparing and sterilization of surgical instruments, materials and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
- Review of treatment plan and prepare consent forms.
- Assist the surgeon with all chairside procedures and anesthesia administration.
- Prepare patients for surgery as well as monitoring vital signs during procedures.
- Setting up operatory as well as cleanup.
- Provide patients with oral health care information and postoperative instructions.
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and medications.
- Ensures that instruments and equipment are effectively maintained.
- Calibration of ICAT and Trios equipment.
- Provides excellent patient care at all times.
Hours Of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:15am to 5:15pm
Friday 8:15am to 4:00pm
