What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Walker/Pet Sitter position at Paw-T-Time Pet Care?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to join our team.
As a Dog Walker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and happiness of our furry clients. This position involves taking dogs on walks, providing companionship, and ensuring their safety during outings. Ideal candidates will have a love for animals and experience in pet care.
Dog walks would be M-F between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and typically done by 3:00 p.m. or before. Averaging 5 (30min)walks per day 4-5 days/ week
Pet sitting- we offer pet sitting 365 days a year, you would be responsible for helping with pet sitting during the week as well as committing to working two weekends per month and willingness to share the work on holidays. Which means you may have stops before your daily walks around 7/8am and/or late at night around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. The whole team works together to get pet sitting jobs covered!
Ideal candidates will also be willing to spend the night in the Pet's home on occasion.
Duties include but are not limited to giving food and fresh water, taking the pets out for bathroom breaks and walks or scooping litter boxes and cleaning cages for smaller Critters, administering medications orally with a willingness to learn how to give injections like insulin. Cleaning up after pets and ensuring the home is tidy before owner's return .
Requirements/Skills:
- Knowledge and training in caring for a variety of pets from caged Critters up to horses.

Strong dedicated work ethic, these are living creatures and family members to our clients. So their care is top priority.
Need the stamina to walk a steady pace for 30 minutes repeatedly with an average of 5 to 15 minutes between walks(drive time).
- Ensure all necessary supplies (leashes, waste bags, etc.) are available for each walk. I highly recommend keeping your own waste belt leash, Gentle Leader and poop bags(company supplied) on hand.
Strong enough to handle large muscular dogs, with the willingness to walk more than one at a time( typically not more than three).
Your own reliable transportation and a current Minnesota driver's license and insurance.
Clean criminal record
The willingness to work in all weather conditions including heavy rain, extreme heat- up to 90° and extreme cold winter conditions- down to zero degrees or a -20 wind chill. We move to indoor play when it hits these extreme temperatures or there is lightning which could be dangerous to us and the pets. During winter pet sitting that does mean having to go out into winter storms to make sure that the animals are taken care of!
Willingness and ability to clean up messes created by pets including but not limited to damaged property and ripped up toys, vomit, diarrhea and urine accidents.
Be comfortable with all breeds and types of dogs as well as cats, chickens and other caged animals like birds and reptiles, along with hobby farm animals such as goats and horses.
Willingness to learn or already possess the ability to administer medications including injections as we have a few diabetic animals that need insulin daily.
