Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal care, eager to learn, and dedicated to supporting a collaborative team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work closely with our veterinarian and other support staff to assist in medical care, client education, and ensure the comfort of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in patient care, including handling, restraining, and comforting pets following Fear Free practices.
• Support veterinary staff during appointments, surgeries, and procedures.
• Conduct basic clinical tasks like taking patient vitals, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the clinic.
• Educate clients with empathy, providing information on pet health, preventative care, and clinic services.
• Assist with clinic housekeeping tasks to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and AAHA best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Veterinary Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
• Enthusiasm for animal care, attention to detail, and ability to follow low-stress handling techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, client-centered approach to communication.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, small team environment.
