What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Estimator position at Paychex?
Responsible for HVAC & hood construction project estimating, maintaining liaison with vendors, subcontractors, and updates activities through CRM (Sales Force).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret commercial HVAC drawings, specifications, develop estimates and installation cost with subcontractors.
- Able to provide cost estimation and quantities take-off from commercial architectural drawings.
- Responsible for fielding calls for service following startup of equipment and outside of the original installer contract.
- Responsible for careful observance of corporate policies and objectives.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Bachelors or equivalent experience combination.
- Ten years of experience in the commercial HVAC construction industry, five of which were at a supervisory role.
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
- Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem-solving.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities.
- Expert level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations with tact, diplomacy, influence and sensitivity. Demonstrate group presentation skills, phone and e-mail etiquette.
- Ability to use significant independent judgment.
