Additional Duties
- Skilled in at least one work center and performs specific machinist functions. May have ability to set up and troubleshoot machines within work center.
- Ability to prove out and set up proven programs for production.
- Provides instruction and training to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
- Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.
- Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary.
- Makes tool offsets as required.
- Completes preventative maintenance as required.
- Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Education
- High school graduate; or GED
- BOCES Machine Shop classes; or Skilled trade school graduate
- 1 year of machine shop experience
- Basic Shop math skills
- Basic Blueprint reading skills
- General Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines
- 4 years of machine shop experience
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in order of operations
- Ability to apply concepts of trigonometry
- Inspection measuring equipment knowledge
