PCC employs over 150 seasonal and part-time staff who support our various community efforts. PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE
Under the supervision of their assigned Supervisor, the Member Care Staff represents the first and last point of contact with members and guests, primarily at the Front Desk of the Peninsula Community Center, a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC). This role is focused on creating a positive member experience by providing a superior level of customer service so that members, co-workers, stakeholders, and guests feel known and valued. As a PCC team member, the Member Care Staff commits to live out and uphold PCC’s mission, vision, and values.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Assist in maintaining neatness and cleanliness of our facility, to include re-stacking weights, be
  • Handle all front desk activities including but not limited to: greet and thank all people who enter and leave the facility and area, answer phones in a friendly and courteous manner; check members and guests into system, give prospective members tours, process sales transactions, facilitate needed updates to members’ accounts (30%)
  • Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner, track feedback and requests, and escalate to Supervisor as needed (30%)
  • Concierge: Move around the Center to maximize meaningful connections with members, help maintain a clean and organized Center facility (as long as Lobby is staffed); tidy up all rooms on an hourly basis; ensure everyone receives care and attention from arrival to departure; enforce Center processes and procedures; communicate to Facilities team for needed repairs and supply needs to ensure facilities are always member-ready (30%)
  • Team player: Assist in ensuring a safe, productive, and enriching work environment; actively participate in organization-wide activities as required (i.e. team meetings and PCC events) (10%)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • Concierge: exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co-workers, exceeding member expectations; upbeat and positive attitude 
  • Compassionate: good listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve; treats everyone with respect and kindness in all interactions
  • Collaborator: Personable, friendly, and collaborative team player with high personal ownership over tasks
  • Office Skills: organized and has the ability to handle multiple physical tasks quickly; basic computer skills and ability to learn and use internal computer system
  • Age: Must be at least 16 years old with a valid work permit or Live Scan certification (if over 18 years old)
  • Certifications: Must be CPR/AED and 1st Aid Certified (or willing to get certified within 3 months of starting position) and willing to perform CPR and other 1st Aid as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Continual standing and walking during 3.5-5 hour shift; will work indoors and outdoors, constantly moving to maximize connections with members
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Assist with putting on and taking off pool cover and moving lane lines, to include pushing, pulling, cranking a handle, bending, and stooping
  • Willing and able to help someone out of the pool, off of equipment, and perform CPR/AED and 1st Aid
SALARY/BENEFITS
  • $18.00 per hour, responsibilities, # of hours worked, and performance evaluation
  • Complimentary Peninsula Community Center individual membership when working a minimum of two regularly scheduled shifts/week. Sub status does not receive a complimentary membership.
WORKWEEK
Part-time positions: 8-29 hours per week (2 shift minimum) Sunday-Saturday, hours may vary
