Job Description

Title: Machine Operator

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisory Staff  

Job Summary

The machine operator is responsible for unloading, loading, pulling orders, and the movement and sorting of cotton bales, to and from storage locations. General plant maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in the repairs of the fire protection systems as needed.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

 Perform all operations in compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Safely operate industrial lift trucks.

Unload, stack, and locate bales into inventory.

Breakout (order picking).

Sort and prepare bales per shipping orders.

Repair damaged bales.

Load Bales from the staging areas onto outbound freight. 

Maintain and fill out a daily lift truck checklist before every shift.

Use of handheld devices.

Assist in routine buildings and grounds maintenance.

Assist Fire Prevention and Maintenance personnel in required regulatory testing and repairs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily upon completion of all required training. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

Education and or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Language Skills 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information, communicate and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and co-workers. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid state driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one. All other certifications will be provided through PCCA-Warehouse as deemed necessary by management.

Other Skills and Abilities 

Ability to effectively utilize cell phones, email, tablets, and computers.
