PCD Group (http://pcdgroup.com/), a digital agency specializing in the financial service industry is looking for an experienced Design Director to lead our design team in the delivery of websites, web applications and digital marketing campaigns for fortune 500/1000 clients in the financial service industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with clients to help define project objectives, requirements and target audiences. PCD Group’s Design Director will be responsible for writing creative briefs (collaborative), shaping design tasks effectively, assigning work to the design team, maintaining quality across design deliverables, completing UX design reviews of built digital experiences, capacity planning for creative team (in collaboration with Production Director), estimating hours and working within schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with client product and marketing teams and PCD’s cross functional team
- Work with Creative Director in defining design and campaign strategies
- Capture and document design and functional requirements and shape / assign creative tasks
- Lead and mentor a small team of designers / copywriters (2-4 people) and their deliverables
- Manage design work and quality from concept through launch
- Present design work to clients and manage feedback
- Research and create competitive reviews
- Maintain design, functional specifications and style specifications
- Advocate for best practices in design, usability and accessibility
- Help hire and develop top design talent
Qualifications:
- 8 years of design experience at digital agency with corporate clients, with at least 4 years in a Design Management type role
- Experience with financial service type clients
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership in user-centered design across platforms
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
- Expert proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and design systems
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Zoom, Slack and SharePoint
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field
