Scale Operator Responsibilities

Scale Operator is responsible for handling their work in a courteous, productive manner, working with policies and procedures. Greet Customers in person and by phone, answer questions, address concerns and offer assistance as needed. A Scale Operator shall have the authority to fulfill their responsibilities as defined below:

Operations:

The Scale Operator is responsible for facilitating all activities including grading and weighing all ferrous and non-ferrous loads coming into the facility. The Scale Operator directs customers to appropriate unloading areas and communicates with yard personnel for inspection purposes. The Scale Operator is to acquire knowledge and information on all incoming loads as to grade of materials before leaving the scales to unload and to verify customer has a valid state ID and acceptance of only authorized products. The Scale Operator is responsible for accurate and correct handling of all weight tickets ensuring correct weight ticket is provided to customer. The Scale Operator handles calls regarding pricing, grading, directions, and other general inquires. Ensures buyers have on safety PPE when on property. Issues bill of ladings on materials being shipped out.

The scale operator is responsible for customer delivery and situations, office cleanliness, and Guest (Customer) service during their work time.

Participate in special projects and have the ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

A Scale Operator is responsible for conducting themselves in a courteous, business-like manner, and for maintaining good personal appearance and hygiene.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Overtime
