GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The position assists customers via telephone and email by entering orders, managing orders, preparing pricing proposals, quoting prices and lead times, offering technical assistance, keeping customers updated on product and pricing changes, working on custom projects, and meeting customer needs as required, including walk-in customers. This position also purchases special order parts from established vendors for specific orders.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 6 months in a sales or sales support role.
- Previous knowledge of or experience in Rotomolded Plastic storage tank products and services or industrial mechanical/process piping-related industries is a plus.
- Previous technical and application assistance skills is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret Sales Orders and Customer Purchase Orders is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- PC literate- Office Suite and Quickbooks
- Previous experience using CRM and ERP Systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Mechanical Aptitude and/or experience.
- Self-confident and able to negotiate.
- Ability to maintain client relationships.
- Ability to work well with others positively and constructively.
- Able to maintain a clean driving record.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Work as a team to meet and /or exceed monthly sales goals.
- Excellent Team player within a target-driven environment
- Identifies revenue opportunities through communication, programs, and other activities.
- Prospects, qualifies, and generates sales within the company’s established partners.
- Telephones and emails existing customers and potential prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify, and drive sales leads through the pipeline.
- Works closely and provides support and information to the Sales Management Team, Business Development, and other departments as needed.
- Ability to build both internal and external business customer/vendor relationships.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across multifunctional teams.
- Responds timely and professionally to customer requests for information related to product
- Follows up with customers on pending quotes/orders on a timely basis.
- Regular and prompt attendance per assigned schedule and effectively communicating when there are deviations from the schedule ahead of time.
- Regular attendance at sales and/or company meetings when requested and involvement and interaction in the meetings.
- Keep management informed of all activities, including timely preparation of reports.
- Collection and data entry input of sales orders with complete details such as quantity, purchase order number, and shipping details. Regularly communicate with customers and supervisors to manage all expectations.
- Maintain customer records using both CRM and ERP systems.
- The job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges, including cross-training in other duties as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge of all Peabody products.
- Build new and maintain existing Customer relationships.
- Monitor market conditions and product innovations while keeping current with competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
- Work with management to provide accurate pricing to customers.
- Work with customers to continue expanding their product line usage.
- Develop new customers.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and helping find resolutions.
- Data entry of orders collected daily and provide status updates on orders to customers when requested.
- Work with customers to manage their day-to-day needs via phone, EDI, and email.
- Process orders, returns, stock rotations, etc.
- Maintain regular communication via phone and email with each customer.
- Manage back-order reports for each customer.
- Knowledge of the production floor and the ability to give customer tours.
- Assist “walk-in” customers in the front lobby as needed.
- Field customer inquiries on custom projects and work with key team members to prepare quotes, manage projects, and fulfill orders to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Promptly follow up on customer inquiries and open quotes.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
